According to the @ranarod Telegram channel with reference to foreign media, the mutual acceptance of cards from the Indian payment system RuPay and the Russian MIR will allow citizens of India and Russia to make payments in Indian rupees and Russian rubles in their countries.

In addition, it was decided to study the possibility of interaction between the Indian Unified Payment Interface (UPI) and the Russian Fast Payment System (FPS), as well as the possibility of introducing the Russian analogue of SWIFT for cross-border payments.

India has previously successfully merged its UPI interface with Singapore's PayNow. Now citizens of both countries can make money transfers without additional fees to third-party services.
