Israel will expand the hotel sector in the Dead Sea region 15.10.2021
Seven hotel complexes are expected to be built, two of which will be on the water. The number of rooms will be 1675 rooms.

Within the framework of the tender, it is planned to realize the high tourism potential of the region. The entire territory will occupy almost 4 square kilometers, of which most will be allocated for tourism, and the rest will be occupied by commercial and office premises, an entertainment complex and walking paths.

“This is another stage in the development of tourism in the Dead Sea region. In recent years, the Ministry has invested hundreds of millions of shekels in tourism infrastructure, the demand for which has increased significantly, and hotels in this area are enjoying the highest occupancy in Israel, ”- Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism Amir Halevi.

The Dead Sea area has also always been in great demand among Russians. Before the pandemic, about 50% of tourists from the Russian Federation who came to Israel visited this region as part of a trip.

The ministry is promoting a comprehensive plan to develop the region from the northern Dead Sea to the desert. At the same time, special attention is paid to the preservation of streams and the creation of a continuous large beach. As part of the proposed construction, the unique coastline will be preserved.
