Among the sought-after areas, analysts compare China. The dynamics of the growth of insurance policies sold year-on-year amounted to 125%. The main factors contributing to the growth are: the development of tourism infrastructure in the region, the expansion of the choice of tourist routes and the final lifting of restrictions after the coronavirus pandemic.
Classic Asian destinations such as Vietnam and Thailand are also in the top in the third quarter of this year compared to the same period last year with an increase of 105% and 15.8%, respectively.

The high demand for holidays in China is confirmed by data from the online hotel and apartment booking service Ostrovok: in the third quarter of 2024, the number of bookings by Russian tourists in hotels in the country doubled compared to last year. The average cost of a night in bookings made was 10,800 rubles – the figure decreased by 10% compared to last year (12,000 rubles).
According to experts of the Island, travelers are attracted by a variety of offers for recreation in the country – from sightseeing and adventure to religious and beach tourism. For example, interest in Chinese seaside resorts has grown especially noticeably this summer – the rate of bookings has shown a threefold increase. These destinations compete for tourists with Turkey, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates and are becoming an alternative to the usual Middle Eastern resorts for Russians.
