“Turkey ended 2023 with a 10% increase in tourist traffic, reaching 56.7 million. After changing Turkey’s strategy in 2018, we focused not only on beach tourism. We began to diversify our products: we are increasing short-term trips through event tourism and sports tournaments,” he said at a meeting on the results of 2023 in tourism.

As Ersoy noted, Russia became the leader in the tourist flow to Turkey, from where 6.3 million tourists came. Germany is in second place with 6.2 million, the UK closes the top three with 3.8 million. The top 5 also includes Bulgaria and Iran.

The average length of stay in Turkey has dropped from 10.8 nights in 2022 to 9.8 nights last year.
