“Rossiya Airlines has fulfilled all administrative requirements and is currently finalizing the approval of a number of technical and operational conditions. The embassy looks forward to the completion of this process and the restoration of direct flights between the Russian Federation and Indonesia, as it was before the COVID-19 pandemic,” Izvestia quotes the message from the Indonesian embassy in Moscow.

For its part, the Russian Embassy in Indonesia stated that the issue of launching direct flights between the countries is under discussion.

According to the vice-president of the Association of Russian Tour Operators for Outbound Tourism, Artur Muradyan, there is still a problem with the availability of guarantees of non-arrest and servicing of Russian aircraft on the territory of a foreign state due to sanctions. This could create obstacles to launching flights before the end of this year.
